Central Virginia; Multiple Residential Properties

The Venson Landscaping team routinely performs a french drain installation for residents in the Central Virginia area. These systems drastically reduce wet yards by efficiently draining water from the area.

Typically we excavate a 6 inch wide by 18 to 24 inch deep trench. Then, we add 2 to 3 inches of gravel and place a perforated pipe in the trench so that the surface water can permeate through the system.

We proceeded by putting more gravel over the pipe leaving 3 to 5 inches between the gravel and the top of the trench.

Finally the trench is filled with the displaced soil and previously removed sod.
